Jordan Montoya

[He will never forget Glamis]  On October 23, 2004, Jordan Montoya and his friends were out enjoying an early morning ride in Glamis, CA.  Since his new motorcycle had broke down the day before, Jordan was on his mom’s quad.  As they headed home, he got a little behind.  Anxious to keep up with the group, he headed into a whoops section with too much speed.  He slammed into the gas tank, collapsing his right lung, and momentum carried him over the handle bars, breaking his right femur in the process.  The quad then landed on his neck, breaking his C-5 vertebrae and bruising his spinal cord.

The next thing he remembers is gasping for air, and his friend asking, “Dude, are you alright?”  He remembers the noise of a helicopter, and then he was waking up in a hospital, two weeks later.  He rolled out as a quadriplegic.

“That was four years ago, when I was just 14.  My family and friends have been by my side through it all, and without them I don’t know where I would be.  But what I do know is that I will make it through this challenge that God has given me.” – Jordan Montoya

“This is my son Jordan’s story.  As a single mother of two this experience has been extremely challenging, but it has brought our family closer together and taught us the meaning of love, perseverance, and true certainty…..Certainty that without a doubt Jordan will walk again one day.” – Tina Montoya
