I would like to personally thank you for your support of our cause and welcome you to Awakenings Health Institute in San Diego, CA. Fourteen years ago, I was involved in an auto accident which left me paralyzed from my neck down due to a spinal cord injury. My dad and brothers came from the western approach to medicine while my mom came from the eastern. Together, they created the perfect recipe for hope, recovery, comfort and quality of life. Due to my athletic background, it was a necessity for me to incorporate intensive exercise into my already busy physical therapy and body-work regimen. I had to move!

Money is and always will be an issue for anybody struggling to pay medical bills. Because my mom refused to take no for an answer, our insurance company did not stand in my way of daily therapy and made it possible to continue rehabilitation without the customary financial stress. Most are not so lucky and are often compelled to forgo a proactive lifestyle to ensure basic survival.

sunset Ten years later my friend and I opened Awakenings Health Institute with the mission to recreate the incredible path I was provided - To improve the functionality of individuals with physical and neurological disabilities through integrative post-acute therapies. We wanted to ensure Awakenings would not be a financial burden to the already expensive lifestyles our clients encounter due to healthcare, while providing long term exercise, acupuncture, and bodywork. In addition, it was essential to assemble an incredibly supportive staff we like to call family, in order to guide our clients, their families, and friends through these incredibly difficult times.

After encountering a life changing traumatic experience, I had the fortune of receiving the opportunity to run through the arduous course of rehabilitation for the mind, body, and soul through the support of family, friends, and other helpful resources. Finally, this journey has allowed me to repay the favor society has given to me by giving back to our community. I hope with the help of our incredibly fun, loving, and caring staff we can provide the same for you and your families.
